- Optional things. Most things in life are optional. Slowing down and not rushing to do everything can help ensure that I actually do the neccessary things.
- Depth over variety. When I was younger, I got excited about variety. After a while, variety does not excite me as much as depth. Slowing down and taking the time to fully immerse myself in an experience allows me to experience deeper. There is a lot of beauty in seeing the subtle relationship between people and things.
- Better solutions. Often complicated problems are best solved by our unconscious mind rather than our conscious/rational mind. In order for my unsciousness mind to solve problems I need to step away from the problem and not actively think about the problem. I also need to be in a relaxed state.
- Making lists. Slowing down to take the time to make a list of all the things I need to take care has been more effective than just diving in attempting to do all of those things.
- Getting things done faster. When I slow down and imagine all the things I need to do, how I’m going to do it, how much time it is going to take I tend to get those things done faster. I’m mapping out the course verses stumbling through, hitting walls and having to adjust.
