Quantity and Quality

I get overly obsessed with achieving more. Get more sleep, get more exercise, drive more revenue. Focusing on quantity leaves little room to focus on quality. It is much easier to just focus on quantity and believe that I’m being successful. If quantity is going up, I believe I’m doing all the right things.

Say I am tasked with driving more revenue. However, if the revenue that I’m bringing is either not renewable or is expensive to deliver against, I’m not taking quality into account.

When I take quality into account, I may not need as much quantity to be successful. A few highly profitable customers may be better than a lot of expensive to service customers. Less sleep with longer time in deep sleep is better than hours of restless sleep. Ten minutes of high interval training can be better than a long walk.

It is easier to decide what quality looks like and commiting to quality before starting to scale for quantity.
